Genevieve's Story

The days of single motherhood are about done for our foster Queen Genevieve. She has begun to self-wean from her litter, so we figured it would be a great time to introduce you! This VERY able-bodied 3 year old tripod momma came up to New Jersey last week from Georgia. While we don't know her story, we know we adore her spunk and her love for all people, including our kids. She is currently about 40 lbs ( but needs a little meat on her to get comfier this winter) Genevieve (the name she came from the shelter with) has adopted all sorts of nicknames in our house, including Tres Leches, our 3-legged sweet milk mama. She LOVES to be where the people are in our house and will happily find herself in the center of your carpet to take a long snooze. She has done well in her time left in our home when we are not there. She isn't crated so she can get to her babies, but we do have her confined to a room to ensure she is safe while we are out of the house. We are quite unsure what the dynamic is with she and our resident cat...the resident cat admittedly is not the most welcoming...and while our other fosters ignored her, sweet Genevieve is very curious...this has made for some chaotic moments. This could be purely situational with her guarding her babies and our resident cat being uninterested in sharing her space with a family but I would recommend she go to a home without cats. Genevieve will be ready to go to her new home in about 2 weeks when we can all confidently agree her pups are thriving without her waning care lol. Copays vary by location. $110 reimbursement if adopters' own vet/clinic is used within same timeframe for alter and microchip. All Mutts Matter Rescue is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible. *** Breed determination in most cases is often based on the limited history typically available for most rescued animals. We try to be as accurate as possible with the information we have and the rescue assessment of the pup. Current Adoptions are within 3 hours of our foster homes, most within the SJ area - within NJ/PA/DE
