Hi, I'm Genesee. I'm a young adult pup who's very timid because I haven't experienced much of the world yet, and new environments can feel overwhelming to me. I'm waiting for a patient, kind friend who will help me feel safe and show me just how good life can be. My ideal home would be a quiet one with gentle humans who understand that I need time to get comfortable and come out of my shell. A secure, fenced-in yard would be helpful for me right now, since I'm still learning how to feel confident on a leash and do best when I can explore safely at my own pace. With love, understanding, and time, I know I'll grow into the wonderful dog I'm meant to be. 🐾💛

Cape Coral Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

We use a counseling approach to finding forever homes for the animals in our care. We screen our applicants but try not to create barriers to adoption. In three years of operation, we found homes for over 3,500 animals with only 12 kennels and 3 cat rooms. Communication with adopters is a huge part of our operations.
