Gemma (Reduced Rover)'s Story
Meet Gemma: Chaos Coordinator, Kisser Extraordinaire, and Four-Legged Force of Nature

If Marvel ever made a movie about a dog, Gemma would star in it-cape optional, zoomies contractually obligated.

At a trim 52 pounds of pure Siberian Shepherd magnificence, this 3-year-old heroine is equal parts beauty queen, stunt double, and accidental life coach. She's fully vaccinated, spayed, house trained, and crate trained-basically the Swiss Army knife of dogs, if Swiss Army knives gave kisses and occasionally stole your spot on the couch.

Gemma lives her life in surround sound. When she sprints across the yard, it's with the conviction of a dog who believes she is late to something very important (she isn't). When she cuddles, it's with the focus of a professional snuggler who takes her job seriously and bills in face licks per minute.

Now, let's talk casting notes.
Gemma prefers a calm, confident male co-star-one with a solid personality who can appreciate her... interpretive dance phase. She plays beautifully with easygoing gentleman dogs who don't mind a little flair.

As for cats: Gemma considers them... intriguing. Suspiciously fluffy. Occasionally tempting. However, with a human director in the scene (you), she's proven she can stay on script. She's been walking past street cats daily and can be easily redirected, which means she can absolutely coexist with both indoor and outdoor cats in a home that keeps her engaged and gently reminds her that the popcorn is not, in fact, for chasing.

She's a lover through and through, but her enthusiasm can occasionally arrive like a confetti cannon. For that reason, she's best suited for a home with adults or sturdy teens who understand that "Gemma greeting" may include a full-body welcome and the occasional joyful collision.

If you want your life louder, brighter, and approximately 300% more cinematic-if you want laughter, affection, and a daily reminder that joy can sprint on four legs-Gemma is your girl.

Adopt her, and prepare to live in glorious, beautiful, tail-wagging technicolor.

PLEASE READ BELOW:

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq

Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.

***Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
