Gemma **Meet and Greet Pending**'s Story

If you are interested in any of the dogs available at New Leash Rescue, you can reach out to the foster listed below for more information and then complete an adoption application which can be found at https://www.newleashrescue.org/adopt/policy. Please email the completed application to newleashrescue2018@gmail.com

Gemma is 2-3 years old, and around 15 pounds or so and came from the reservation with her pups. Her breed is completely a guess - she is likely a mix of many things, but 100% adorable!

She is very people oriented and loves to be with her people. She can be unsure and scared of some other dogs and needs time to adjust. If she is unsure of dogs around she will cling to her humans.

She will do great as an only dog or with a family who understands this and is willing to take things slow with her and other dogs. She has been around other small dogs in her foster home and doing well over time with the adjustment. She is not good with cats.

Gemma can be a flight risk under some circumstances so needs a family who will take extra precautions to keep her safe. Gemma will do best in a single family home environment with a physically fenced yard - this is what she has been living in since early in the year when she came to rescue to start adjusting to her new life.

Adoption fee is $600+ tax (no checks)

Email to contact: adopt@newleashrescue.org

Please inquire if this pup will be attending any of our upcoming Saturday adoption events from 11-2pm at the Burnsville, Cottage Grove, or Forest Lake PetSmart locations.

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
