Meet Gema 🐾<br/><br/>Gema is one of the “81 Speedway Shepherd Girls,” named after she and Pina were found loose and surviving near 81 Speedway, located between Park City and Valley Center, KS, before being safely secured.<br/><br/>Their names were inspired by the racing world — Pina (from Alpina) and Gema (from Gemballa) — a fitting tribute to where their journey began.<br/><br/>While they shared that part of their story, they are not littermates and will be placed individually based on their unique needs.<br/><br/>Gema is a young German Shepherd who has shown a beautiful desire to connect with people. She enjoys close contact, affection, and being near her humans, and continues to grow more confident each day.<br/><br/>She is:<br/>✔ Affectionate and people-oriented<br/>✔ Enjoying close interaction and bonding<br/>✔ Learning leash skills and structure<br/>✔ Dog-friendly (has done well with larger male and similar-sized female dogs)<br/>✔ Adjusting to home life and routine<br/><br/>Gema has done well with other dogs, but she tends to enjoy being the center of attention and may thrive as the only dog in the home.
