Gelt is a fun-loving little guy with a big personality packed into his size. He enjoys a good squeaky soft toy or ball, though he can sometimes get distracted by trying to chew on things that aren’t toys—typical curious pup behavior! He likes to patrol the house, carefully sniffing and investigating every corner, making sure all is as it should be.<br/><br/>Gelt plays well with other energetic dogs and has done great with a much larger (50 lb) foster dog sibling. While he enjoys canine company, his favorite thing in the world is human playtime—he truly thrives on attention and interaction. He’ll need to eat separately from other pets, but he’s perfectly fine sharing space when it comes to treats and toys.<br/><br/>Despite his size, Gelt has an impressively big bark and snores like he’s just finished a double shift at work. He’s not a huge fan of bath time but tolerates it with some wiggles, and he happily sits still for relaxing massage grooming gloves. He’s very affectionate and loves giving kisses to his favorite people.<br/><br/>Gelt is fascinated by the world around him—he enjoys sunbathing, watching nature, and is especially intrigued by the television (doggy TV is a big hit!) and mirrors. He’s mostly potty trained and knows to pee right away when let outside, though he still has the occasional accident indoors.<br/><br/>His crate is his happy place and serves as a cozy getaway space; he’s currently learning the “crate” command and doing well. When left to his own devices, Gelt can self-entertain with a good bone or collagen chew.<br/><br/>With his affectionate nature, playful spirit, and charming quirks, Gelt is sure to bring laughter and love to a home ready to guide him as he continues learning and growing.
