Gecko's Story
Gecko is a gentle, sensitive soul with a big heart and a soft spirit. He's an incredibly sweet boy who forms strong bonds with his people, but he can be a bit unsure of the world around him — even his own shadow can catch him off guard sometimes.

Because of his sensitivity, Gecko would do best in a home with no young children or older, respectful kids only, where his boundaries can be understood and honored. He does well with other dogs and enjoys their presence, especially when introductions are handled calmly.

Gecko startles if woken suddenly from a deep sleep, so he thrives with structure and routine. Sleeping in his own crate at night helps him feel safe and sets him up for success. He has no aggression toward people, but he can be mildly protective of his person when relaxing on the couch or in bed, occasionally expressing this with a low growl if someone enters the room — he's all talk and no action.

What Gecko truly needs is a patient, loving adopter who can provide reassurance, gentle guidance, and consistent boundaries. With the right mix of affection and correction, Gecko will continue to gain confidence and blossom into the loyal, devoted companion he's meant to be.

Gecko is fostered in Green Lane (Montgomery County), Pennsylvania and is ready to head home with a loving family.

Link to Gecko's bio: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2599092&name=Gecko

Gecko is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It's a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with him, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information and Gecko's name, and his foster or volunteer will be in touch.

#mostlymuttzrescue #adoptabledogs #adoptme
