Meet #Gavin <br/>Please share <br/>Gavin found his way to us after his owner could no longer care for him, and while we don’t know much about his life before the shelter, we do know the dog we’ve come to know over the last few weeks.<br/>Gavin appears to be a Belgian Malinois / German Shepherd–type mix, and we estimate him to be around 2 years old. He has the markings of a Belgian and the strong, athletic build to match — which means intelligence, loyalty, and a need for the right kind of home.<br/> What we’ve learned about Gavin:<br/>• Very sweet and gentle with people<br/>• Comes out of his kennel a little “hot,” but not aggressive at all<br/>• Easy to leash and handle<br/>• Needs some leash-walking practice (which will come with time and consistency)<br/>• Knows basic commands like sit and stay<br/>• Takes treats very gently<br/>• Allowed us to put a tie on him for photos and handled it like a champ<br/>• Sits quietly in his kennel — honestly, he seems a little sad, like he misses having his person<br/>Gavin doesn’t bark, doesn’t act out — he just waits. And that part breaks our hearts.<br/>Because of his breed and age, we are looking for a responsible, breed-appropriate adopter who understands dogs like Gavin and is willing to provide structure, guidance, and love.<br/> Dog friendliness: resident dog meet required .. <br/>not cat tested<br/>Children: older children only, please<br/>We truly believe Gavin will thrive outside of the shelter.
