Gary's Story

AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY.

Meet Gary! Gary is a 10-12 year old male schnauzer mix and he weighs about 5 pounds. Gary arrived in rescue after coming from a house with too many dogs that did not properly care for them. His foster mom says: Gary came to us with a bad ear infection that has now cleared up but will need to be monitored as we don’t know if it will turn out to be chronic. Gary is a sweet boy, who is pretty chill and likes his naps. He does get his frisky moments and plays with toys for a few minutes. Gary is much like a cat as he will come to you when he is ready for pets or to be held. He is happy sleeping in the human bed when he chooses or sometimes just a pet bed in your room. Although he has never been an only dog, he should be fine as long as his humans are home more than gone. A home with no shared walls would be best. He will “scream” when he sees another dog, but he is all bark, no bite. He has a very high pitched bark for such a little man. He does get along with other dogs after the initial meet, but so far he’s not interested in playing. We are working on his house training and leash training. He will need a fenced in yard at this time as he does not love the leash just yet. Mr. Gary has no teeth, so he will need wet food, and do not be late for his meals, he LOVES his food and treats. He will bark demands at you while getting his bowl ready-he is saying, hurry up!! This older gentleman deserves all the best in his new home.

Gary is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and has had his teeth cleaned.

Gary is fostered in the Orlando area and his adoption donation is $225. If you are interested in applying to adopt Gary, please visit www.floridalittledogrescue.com to read the adoption process and complete an application! Please note that emails simply asking "Is this dog available" will not be returned, as applications are worked in the order received and availability largely depends on when you apply:) Please also know we do not adopt out of state! Thank you!
