Gandalf's Story

Meet Fay – the Matriarch -- mother of a family of three dogs rescued in Eastern Ontario after surviving for many months on the run. Her puppies, now nearly a year old, grew up learning only how to survive — not how to live as part of a family.

Fay herself has never known the comfort of a home. She’s had at least two litters and did whatever it took to keep her pups alive while roaming the fields. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Refuge RR, these dogs were finally brought to safety, and Animatch stepped in to help give them a second chance.

But here’s the truth — rescuing them is the easy part. The hard part is rehabilitating them and helping them discover that people can be kind and homes can be safe. And that’s where you come in.

Fay and her pups — Mavis, Torres, and Pyper — are still waiting to learn what “home” means. Since their rescue, they’ve been living in a kennel environment, and what they need now is human connection, patience, and structure. They require an experienced, compassionate family who is home most of the day, as they are still working through separation anxiety and need plenty of gentle exercise and reassurance.

Refuge RR and Animatch are urgently seeking foster or adoptive homes for Fay and her pups. Every foster home opens a space for another dog in need — it’s how the cycle of rescue continues. Without people willing to open their hearts and homes, even temporarily, we can’t keep helping dogs like Fay.

If you can help Fay or one of her pups — either by adopting or fostering — please fill out the Application Form. If applying to foster, be sure to indicate that on the form.

To see the incredible story of their rescue, watch this short video:

BREED
Lab-x
GENDER
Female
AGE
3
SIZE
Large (44 lbs)
CHILDREN
8+
DOG FRIENDLY
Yes
CAT FRIENDLY
TBD
ENERGY LEVEL
Medium High
GROOMING LEVEL
Low

TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION OF THIS DOG, PLEASE VISIT OUR WEB SITE: www.animatch.ca AND FILL THE APPLICATION ON LINE.
*** calls and e-mails will not be answered ***
