Gamora

Gamora (also known as Lady) is a 7-year-old female German Shepherd who is settling into foster care after spending her entire life with one family. She is a people-oriented dog who forms strong bonds and enjoys being close to her humans.<br/><br/>Lady is house trained and rides well in the car. She knows basic commands, sit and down. She is agile and can easily jump into the back of her foster mom’s vehicle.<br/><br/>Lady lived with two dogs in her first home and is currently doing well living with three adult German Shepherds in her foster home. She had a strong bond with the dogs she grew up with but is generally neutral toward her foster siblings.<br/><br/>Prior to coming into rescue, Lady had limited experience going out in public. Leash walking is a work in progress—she’s strong and currently pulls, but she’s learning. She is not crate trained yet, but her foster home has begun working on this with her.<br/><br/>An ideal home for Lady is one where her people are around more than they’re gone. She will do best in a calmer environment such as an adult home or one with older, dog-savvy children. A busy household with babies or toddlers would not be the right fit for this girl.<br/><br/>Lady’s owners shared that she had lived for short stints with visiting cats and said she generally avoided the cats. Her foster mom tested her with a barn cat and confirmed that Lady showed no aggression toward the cat and indeed seemed a bit afraid of the cat. We feel that Lady will be cat-workable in a home with a dog-savvy cat.<br/><br/>Lady arrived at her foster home on December 29, and her bio will be updated as we continue to learn more about her.
