Fudge's Story

Fudge is 2-3 years old, 48 lbs

About Fudge:
Fudge is a sweet, affectionate girl who has truly blossomed since coming into foster care this past January. She has plenty of energy and loves to play, but she also has a wonderful off-switch — after a good walk or a romp outside, she is perfectly content to curl up right next to you on the sofa for a snuggle. And when the zoomies strike, it is pure joy to watch her race around the securely fenced backyard at full tilt before flopping down happy and tired! She gets along beautifully with the other dogs in her foster home, and she grows more confident every day — in fact, she seems to make a new friend just about everywhere she goes.

What Fudge Loves
Long walks and exploring the great outdoors
Car rides — she absolutely lights up for a road trip
Snuggling on the couch with her favorite person
Getting the zoomies and tearing around a securely fenced yard at top speed
Meeting new friends, both two-legged and four-legged

What She's Working On
Like many young dogs, Fudge is still polishing a few skills — and she is a quick, eager learner. She already knows sit and shake, and she is building her leash manners; with the right walking gear and a little consistency, she improves week by week. She is also a curious chewer, so she does best with a good supply of chew toys and a bit of supervision while she settles into a new space. Her confidence around new people and dogs keeps growing all the time.
Fudge's Ideal Home
A family who will keep up her training and give her daily exercise — plus plenty of snuggle time
A securely fenced yard, or access to calm walking spots (bonus points for a car ride to get there!)
A doggy playmate who can keep up — Fudge loves other dogs, though she's lively enough that a small or senior pup might find her a bit too energetic
Patience and consistency as she continues to build her confidence
