Frosty's Story

Frosty is a 2-year-old, 12-pound male maltese poodle mix from Tijuana! Frosty is an affectionate, quiet, funny pup.

He is continuing to adjust well to the big city. Frosty enjoys cuddling, getting head scratches, and hanging out on his favorite couch. As a 2-year-old, he's no longer a puppy but he sometimes has bursts of playful energy. Most of the time, he enjoys relaxing in a soft spot near his people.

He has just started obedience training, and really loves treats so should be a good learner! During his time with his foster family, he has started working on his housetraining to do his business outside. A consistent schedule and frequent walks will help him work on these skills.

Frosty is making great progress on his leash skills, but is still fearful outside at times. He is friendly with the people he meets, but the big city streets are still unpredictable and an adjustment for him. With patience and positive reinforcement, he should be a city boy in no time!

His forever family will need to continue working with Frosty to reinforce and advance the progress he's been making.

With a little help, Frosty settles down in his crate during the day for short periods of time alone. He does not exhibit strong separation anxiety, though he prefers to be with people. He is happy to sleep in his crate through the night too. He really loves to be cozy with his foster family on the couch or even on laps during the workday. He has recently started to explore chew toys!

Frosty is looking for a quiet, low key family. He appreciates downtime and some active moments. He gets along with his foster sister (a small senior dog) and would do great either solo or with another calm dog of similar size. He has not been tested with cats.

We would recommend Frosty go to a home with older children who can be patient with him and help him learn.

Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention.

To apply to adopt Frosty, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.

Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org
