She is adorable, so affectionate, and loves all humans. She's a Velcro girl who jumps into your lap to cuddle, gazes up at you with soulful brown eyes and easily finds her way into your heart. Freya is food-motivated and anxious to please. She's a polite houseguest who hasn't had a single accident in her foster home. She's quiet unless she needs to go potty, then she'll bark to let you know. Freya is amazing on a leash and loves walks and car rides. She looks to her humans for reassurance, affection and guidance every day, to make sure she is still safe and still loved. This good girl breaks our hearts with how hard she tries to do all the right things. <br/> <br/>Freya has finished 30 days of pre-HW treatment antibiotics, and heartworm treatment is scheduled for about a month from now. <br/><br/>We would love it if sweet Freya could go into a foster-to-adopt family to start her new life soonest, where she can have all the love and attention before, during and after HW treatment. (The rescue takes care of all medical expenses, and provides everything else you'll need to welcome Freya.) <br/><br/>She's a smart little Sheltie mix who learns fast, loves to run, and would be amazing at agility or learning fun tricks. She's got a great appetite, eats and drinks well and is up to 18# now (we think she likely won't get much bigger). This gentle pup was surviving on the streets of Detroit alone, and because of negative experiences she's had, she is fearful around dogs and other animals.
