ADOPTION IS $200.00.<br/><br/>Freya came to us in early March of this year after being hit by multiple cars. Some amazing folks from a local business heard her screams and ran out to save her. Afterward, they contacted us and we had them bring her directly to our vet. <br/><br/>Freya had two rounds of orthopedic surgery to put her back together and spent several weeks healing afterward. While she is fully recovered now, she did not regain full range of motion in her back right leg. She walks, runs, plays, and does everything like a normal, happy, and healthy puppy. She just has a limp as a result of the muscles seizing post-op and forcing the leg to remain fully extended, with little contraction possible. Freya needs a special home that understands her. <br/><br/>Freya will need a forever home with a family who will make sure she is not just loved and cared for but monitored throughout her life to ensure that her leg does not have any issues as she ages. And, parents who ensure her playtime with other furry friends are not too rough! <br/><br/>Freya weighs about 45 pounds and is fully house-trained, crate-trained, spayed, heartworm negative, on prevention, loves car rides, and does great walking on a leash. She also LOVES other dogs and does great with kids. She has not been cat tested yet but given her temperament, she would probably do fine with a cat who liked dogs. <br/><br/>Freya's foster family describes her as the total package for a dog -- friendly, sweet, smart, and in true Shepherd nature, very, very silly! She is very calm-natured and while she likes to hang out and be included, she also values her alone time. She loves to snuggle on the couch and hang out with the other foster dogs in her home. <br/><br/>Freya would do great in a home with other dogs, both bigger and smaller than her, or as a solo dog in a home with remote workers or a retired family, as long as they were committed to keeping her socialized.<br/><br/>Freya is in Memphis.
