Freda's Story
Meet Freda, Our Resilient Princess.
Freda is approximately 9-11 years old, female, and fully vaccinated.
This sweet girl has endured a life no dog should ever have to face. Her scars tell stories of survival, resilience, and hope after rescue.
Freda was severely overbred before coming to us. Her body endured tremendous trauma and stress from producing litter after litter. Due to the damage caused by excessive breeding, her veterinarian has determined that spay surgery would be too high-risk and is not recommended.
When Freda first arrived, her appearance was heartbreaking. She didn't know what love was, and her skin condition was severely uncontrolled. But with proper veterinary care, nutrition, medicated treatments, and plenty of pampering, she continues to improve both physically and emotionally every single day.
Freda is calm, well-mannered, and incredibly gentle. She lives comfortably in a multi-dog household and prefers to sit peacefully on the sidelines rather than be in the middle of chaos.
Freda is also very hard of hearing. Because of this, she relies on visual cues and gentle touch. Once she learns your routines, she adjusts beautifully. She walks nicely on a leash and shows remarkable patience even in busy environments.
And here's something truly special: Freda is a favorite at the Tunkhannock Rehabilitation and Long Term Care facility. Residents are drawn to her quiet presence and soft spirit. She brings comfort without even trying. She sits beside them, offering calm companionship and unconditional love.
She has a beautiful, steady temperament.
Freda doesn't just love spa days; she requires them. She receives mud bath treatments twice a month to manage her skin condition.
In addition, Freda has chronic dry eye and requires Optimmune (0.2% Cyclosporine) Ophthalmic Ointment (3.5g) twice daily to keep her comfortable and protect her vision. The sanctuary will cover the cost of her eye medication.
For the first time in her life, Freda is learning what it means to be a dog - to feel safe, cared for, and loved.
Freda deserves to be treated like the princess she truly is. She deserves unconditional love, patience, and respect.
Will you be the person who continues to show Freda that the world is kind? That hands are gentle? Is that love forever?
She is ready to give her heart. She needs someone willing to hold it softly.
Apply on our website. https://pattieswaggintails.com/
