Fred's Story
Meet Fred - Part Adventurer, Part Lap Dog, Full-Time Good Boy!

Fred was found as a stray alongside his assumed sister, Essie, roaming in the summer heat-dehydrated, hungry, and desperately in need of help. We later learned that the pair had reportedly been seen abandoned around a local store for a couple of months, somehow surviving on their own.

Despite everything he's been through, Fred is a happy, playful, and affectionate boy who loves life! He gets along great with other dogs! Barks and chases cats so needs to be adopted by a cat free family.

He plays with toys, fetches balls, and enjoys all the fun he can find. After a few hours of playing, though, Fred is more than ready to curl up for a good nap-and yes, he snores!

Fred is also a total lap dog at heart. He loves nothing more than climbing into your lap and soaking up all the love and attention he can get. He's completely potty trained, walks well on a leash, and rides great in the car, making him a wonderful companion for adventures or just relaxing at home.

We do need to mention that Fred has a little bit of a Houdini streak! He's a talented climber, so he'll need a safe and secure setup to keep him from heading out on an adventure of his own. Crate training may also be helpful when needed to keep this curious boy safe.

Fred is around 35 pounds and is the perfect size for playing, adventuring, and then curling up in your lap-even if he doesn't quite realize he's not a tiny puppy!

After spending months just trying to survive, Fred deserves to know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and truly home. Could you be the family he's been waiting for?

Apply to adopt Fred at hsdavie.org/dogs
