FRED's Story

Meet Fred — your 70-pound lapdog with a heart just as big.

Fred is the definition of a lovable goofball. Equal parts cuddlebug and playmate, he’s happiest when he’s right by your side—whether that’s for a game of tug, a walk around the neighborhood, or (his personal favorite) climbing into your lap like he’s a tiny puppy.

Fred is an easy, well-mannered companion. After walks, he’ll proudly trot straight into his kennel for a well-earned rest—one of his many endearing little routines. Fred loves his walks and does great on a harness, though if a squirrel or rabbit crosses his path, his inner hunter wakes up fast! The good news? He’s generally easy to redirect and eager to keep moving with his person.

He’s food-motivated, eager to please, and incredibly cooperative—making him not just easy to love, but easy to live with. In new situations, including passing by kids or other dogs on walks, Fred stays calm, curious, and respectful.

Fred’s dream day is simple: time with his humans, a mix of play and relaxation, and a couple of nice walks to round it all out. Give him that, and he’ll give you everything he’s got in return—loyalty, laughs, and a whole lot of love. If Fred were anything else, he’d be a platypus—one-of-a-kind, a little quirky, and completely unforgettable.

All in all, Fred is a big-hearted, snuggly, wonderfully goofy companion just waiting for his person. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you smiling (and possibly slightly squished on the couch), Fred might just be your perfect match.
