Handsome Fred is a striking 8 month old male chocolate Lab mix. He might be small at only 25 lbs right now, but he's got a tons of love for his lucky new owner! He is friendly with everyone he meets- dogs included (cats havent been tested just yet, but he will most likely do well). Fred arrived from a Southern high-kill shelter in mid-November. He's high energy and SUPER friendly, so a great dog for hikes and outdoor activity. He's interested in everything and a very curious pup. Like most shelter dogs, he takes a few minutes to warm up to strangers - he gets nervous in uncertain situations. For this reason he is best with a routine so he feels comfortable and safe. Everything is a new adventure for this boy - he loves everything and everyone!He gets so thrilled meeting new people and other dogs, he sometimes actually shrieks with excitement like a kid at Christmas!! It's hysterical... ! He's a happy boy, healthy, playful, friendly and sociable. He is the perfect dog for an active family. He is excitable though, so case by case with the very small kids.
