FRECKLES (cc#7098)

Oh, we think he's so handsome! Freckles came in as a stray so we don't know anything about his life before arrival at the shelter, but every day we learn a little bit more. Freckles is anxious to please and has learned to walk on a leash without playing sled dog. (Well, that depends on who’s walking him….) He's also figured out "sit" and “give paw” for treats, and now we're working on "down". He's an active, strong dog that needs a family that's had active, strong and powerful dogs before. Freckles is trying hard to be 'a good dog', and with a little consistency and training he'll make someone a wonderful pet. However, because he is so strong and so active we're thinking that maybe an adult household would be best. A family that takes long walks, goes on hikes, and has an active lifestyle might be just what he needs......<br/><br/>When Freckles first came in he was completely vetted, and at that time the vet estimated he was maybe 2 years old. Freckles has been with us awhile, and now he’s about 3. He weighed in at 68 lbs. but since then he's put on a few pounds during his stay at the shelter. (You've heard of Pot Bellied Pigs.... Maybe we should call Freckles a Pot Bellied Pit. I like to call him 'Chunks' :) .....They found him to be in good health. (He still is….) His Heartworm & Lyme tests were negative, as were his Fecal & Giardia tests (negative for parasites/worms); and he was neutered. He also has his Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella Vaccinations. And on the up-side, Freckles tries to keep his run clean which is usually an indication that the dog is housebroken.<br/><br/>The volunteers and dog walkers absolutely love Freckles. He’s definitely their favorite. Freckles is happy where he is, and we’re sure he thinks this is home….. but we want him to have a real home. We want him to have a family that will love him just as much as he will love them back.<br/><br/>If you have any questions, would like more information about Freckles or if you are considering adoption, you can give us a call.
