FRECKLES (cc#7098)'s Story

Oh, we think he's so handsome! Freckles came in as a stray so we don't know anything about his life before arrival at the shelter, but every day we learn a little bit more. Freckles is anxious to please and is learning to walk on a leash without playing sled dog. He's also figured out "sit" for treats, and now we're working on "down". He's an active, strong dog that needs a family that's had active, strong and powerful dogs before. Freckles is trying hard to be 'a good dog', and with a little consistency and training he'll make someone a wonderful pet. However, because he is so strong and so active we're thinking that maybe an adult household would be best. A family that takes long walks, goes on hikes, and has an active lifestyle might be just what he needs......

Freckles has been to the vet who estimated he's maybe 2 years old. He weighed in at 68 lbs. (Since then he's put on a bit of weight during his stay at the shelter.) They found him to be in good health. His Heartworm & Lyme tests were negative, as were his Fecal & Giardia tests (negative for parasites/worms); and he was neutered. Previously at the shelter he was given his Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella Vaccinations.

If you have any questions, would like more information about Freckles or if you are considering adoption, you can give us a call. (WOAWL 973-736-8689). Or, speak with an animal control officer through the West Orange Health Department at 973-325-4121. Best yet, stop by and take a look. The Township's Animal Control Facility (commonly called The Animal Shelter) is located at 311 Watchung Avenue, West Orange; and is open Monday through Friday 4:30 - 5:30.... ....
