Franklyn's Story

I'm Frank, or Franklyn if we're being formal. I'm a pretty easy going guy, I get along with most every dog and person I meet, and they all seem to love me too. I'm low to mid range energy level for a hound. I like to run around and sniff and take walks, but I am also very content to nap and just sit in the sunshine. I walk well on a leash, and I'm told I have a cute little prance when I'm feeling playful.

I'm relatively brave, up for adventure, and down for new experiences, though we might need to take it a little slow in the beginning until I understand what we're doing. I would probably be fine with gentle kids because I'm not phased by much and I'm not much of a jumper or leash puller. I don't bark a ton for a hound, mostly just when I know I'm about to get something yummy or when someone else is getting to play or go for a walk and I have to wait my turn. I HATE having to wait my turn. But, that's okay, if I'm adopted I shouldn't have to be patient quite as much.

One thing that the humans love about me is that I don't particularly like to go potty inside. If I know I'm going out in the yard, I'll hold on until I can find a an especially good place to go. I taught myself this, because frankly, I'm pretty dignified. I stay quite tidy most of the time, and even do okay for baths.

I love a good treat, running and sniffing, chewing on bones, pretending I'm tough, getting brushed, getting a nice ear massage, going for walks, and lazing around outside. My recall is not the greatest until I feel like coming back, so the Humans say I should have a fenced yard or someone very committed to keeping a leash on me when I'm outside.
I do know my name very well, but sometimes ya gotta sniff, you know?

If you think you might be interested in meeting me, send us a message.
