Frankie's Story

Frankie is a 3-year-old female Newfoundland (unknown DOB). She is spayed and UTD on her vaccinations. She is very sweet with people (always the first dog to ask for a belly rub), but is also extremely energetic.

She will need a fenced yard. She knows sit, but nothing else. She does pull on leash, and while, she'd do fine if you never wanted to take her on a walk, we know most people do like to walk their dogs, so adopters will need to be registered for a basic training class with an approved trainer prior to adopting her.

Frankie would not be an appropriate dog for a home with young children. She does fine with cats (she may chase some on the beginning, but she now ignores the cats in her foster home). She does have dog selectivity/reactivity. Her foster home is working with her, but this work will need to be continue and her needs respected in her future home.

Cats: Yes
Dogs: There should be no other dogs in the home.
Kids: Older children may be fine.
Fence: Required
Medical: NA

If you think you might be a good fit for Frankie, we encourage you to complete our application: apply.mnnewfrescue.com

If you'd like to support Frankie, you can do so via our wishlist: wishlist.mnnewfrescue.com

Minnesota Newfoundland Rescue will adopt out-of-state, but adoptions need to be finalized by the adopting family in Minnesota.
