Frank's Story

COURTESY POST FOR PRIVATE OWNER

Meet Frank! This intelligent bright-eyed male is affectionately called Zappa by his music fans.

Zappa is a loving and pleasant housemate. He is house trained, leash trained, neutered, can be left home alone, and is up to date on vaccines. He loves outings on a long line, scattered-treat games, recall games, fetching sticks, and enrichment toys. He also enjoys basking in the sun, getting belly rubs, and sharing quiet time on the couch.

With those antenna ears, Zappa is sensitive to noise like most herding breeds. He especially fears fireworks and thunder, or any noise he perceives as such. He thrives in a small family unit without much coming and going of other humans. He is leary of strange dogs and humans who approach him unpredictably, making his ideal environment a quiet home with a nice yard.

Zappa has worked with wonderful multi-certified dog trainers who are committed to helping him transition to a new family where he can continue all the skills he’s learned. His trainers believe each dog is an individual and have come to truly love him.

All “Frank Zappa” wants is to bring joy to his dearest people and be the best boy. Other dogs and cats get in the way of his purpose in life, so Zappa prefers being an only pet. He would love a home with a fenced in yard, or one in a rural setting if wild critters take note of his prey drive!

While there is no adoption fee, please give a donation of $50 or more to the Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association.

Please reach out to Anna and Jon by calling or texting ‪(617) 843-5205‬ or emailing zappasnewhome@gmail.com. Please tell them Animal Rescue Konnection (ARK) sent you!
