Francine Pending's Story

Francine

DOB 11.18.25

Francine can be summed up in one word, sweetheart. She is quiet, calm, and happiest when she’s being held close. Having a bad day? Francine is the perfect solution. She’ll sit with you, soak up every cuddle, and listen to all your worries with nothing but love and zero judgment. This gentle girl would be a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a soothing, affectionate pup.

This outstanding puppy litter is the perfect blend of moderate energy, high confidence, and exceptional friendliness. They are deeply social, people-focused, and extremely adaptable, thriving around all humans, including children, adults, men and women alike. They are also friendly with strangers, welcoming new faces with curiosity and wagging tails.

These puppies have zero reactivity and no signs of reactivity or fear-based behavior, showing a naturally stable temperament. They have been raised alongside male and female dogs, confident cats, and a full cast of farm animals including chickens, pigs, and cows. They’ve also been introduced to lots of kitties and 7 well-balanced adult dogs who have loved, corrected, and played with them—giving them excellent early social skills and canine manners.

They spend their days at two speeds—playing and sleeping. They enjoy stuffed toys, tug-of-war, and playful sibling wrestling matches, but are not overly hyper. They are healthy, great eaters, and excellent sniffers, having proudly uncovered toys buried by the resident dogs days earlier. They’ve had a blast digging in fresh topsoil delivered to the farm, showing a natural instinct for scent work and enrichment. To support their love for digging, a sandbox filled with soil for non-destructive digging and toy hiding is highly recommended.

This smart litter is already working on house training, is mostly crate trained, and comes when called as a group to “puppies!” They sleep comfortably in their own cozy room, choosing between a blanket-covered crate (for a cave-like feel) or a hidden cabinet nook where they curl up in a classic puppy pile. Their early comfort with confinement means they will transition beautifully into continued crate training.

They are mostly crate trained, working on house training, need leash training, and mild chewing is present, all typical for their age and already improving with structure. They will thrive in homes ready to continue leash skills and basic puppy training.

Adopter Awareness / Concerns
None—they’re practically perfect! These puppies are healthy, behaviorally stable, and socially well-rounded, with no signs of fear or aggression.

Francine is at our partner shelter in Alabama and will be transferred to Maine after she is adopted or when we have a foster home.

YOUR ADOPTION FEE COVERS: Transport to Maine, age specific vaccinations, Health certificate, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worming & martingale collar.

Adoption fees:
Through 6 months of age $450;
7 months to through 5 years $400;
6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500;
9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning Pending Adoption. This dog is in foster care locally, ONLY if Maine is listed next to the dogs name; otherwise, the dog is still waiting with our partner rescue for an adoption or foster home in New England.

All dogs have a current Health Certificate for transport. All imported dogs are quarantined 14 days prior to getting on transport.ve had annual heartworm tests and are on heartworm preventative.

FOR PUPPIES: PLEASE READ!!
Homes considering Puppies must be prepared for:
Flexible Schedules for Potty Training. Puppies can only hold urine for one hour per month of age. Crate Training for the next 10 months to keep them safe from chewing on everything in your home. Supervision with Children and Obedience training.

Socialization; both with new people, children and other dogs outside of the home.
Homes that want a well behaved dog, must be prepared to put the time, effort and costs associated to train a puppy. Well behaved dogs are not born, they are trained! Please do not apply for a puppy if you cannot or do not have the time for a puppy.

Applications can be found at: www.almosthomerescue.net
