Fox's Story

We all know The Fox & The Hound, but have you heard of a Fox named Hound??
Meet Fox– a velvet-eared heart just waiting to belong
Fox is a 3-year-old hound boy with long legs, a goofy grin, and the kind of soul that stays with you. After being abandoned and left to fend for himself on a property where he wasn’t wanted, Fox was scared and unsure of the world. He ultimately had to be humanely trapped—but what came out on the other side was not a broken dog, just a gentle one who needed time to feel safe again.
Fox can be shy with strangers at first, but once he decides you’re his person, you are his person. He truly loves people and other dogs alike. He is VERY playful and adores toys, often happily inviting other dogs to play. He’s polite and submissive if another dog sets boundaries, making him a lovely canine companion.
This big, gangly, goofy dude is also incredibly affectionate. Fox is clingy in the best way—he loves to snuggle, give hugs, and be close to his people. He enjoys being outside and would thrive with a securely fenced yard or an adopter committed to leash walks, recall training, and safety tools like a tracking collar or underground fence.
A few important things to know about Fox:
Very vocal hound – apartment or duplex life is not a good fit
Kennel trained – his crate is his safe space
About 80% potty trained – does great with routine (accidents only if not let out on time or during tummy troubles)
Dog-friendly
No cats and not safe with small farm animals (his hound instincts are strong)
Car rides and new indoor places are scary, but he is improving and doing better on leashed walks every day
Fox is fully vetted—neutered, vaccinated, and on prevention meds. What he needs now isn’t medical care or fixing… it’s commitment. Someone patient, kind, and willing to let him settle in at his own pace and earn his trust.
All Fox wants is a family who will give him a chance—and never let him go again. In return, you’ll get a loyal, loving, hilarious hound with the softest velvet ears and the biggest heart.
If you’re ready for a snuggly shadow, a playful best friend, and a dog who will love you with his whole being—Fox is waiting.

If interested his adoption is free, but a meet and greet is required at your home. Please call or text Michaela to inquire 660-723-5010
