Four's Story
Meet Four! Four came to us after he was unable to travel overseas with his longtime family. He is a lot smaller in person, weighing less than 20lbs, and is reported by his surrendering family as being an unusual mix between a mini schnauzer and a german shepherd. He looks just like a small Norwegian Elkhound! Whoever his ancestors are, they certainly passed down the 'small and cute' factor.

We've been getting to know him over the last two weeks, and overall we'd say that Four will likely do best with people who understand canine body language and are willing to let him set the pace. Like many small dogs, he may shy away from being picked up or handled abruptly, but with consistent, respectful interactions, he can learn that touch can be safe and comforting. Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more.

Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.

** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process.
