Foster Zoran!'s Story

Hi. I’m Zoran.
I’m about a year old… and I’m still figuring out how to be a dog in a world that didn’t start out very kind to me.

I was left behind when my people moved away. Tied to a 50 lb chain. No goodbye. No explanation. Just me, wondering what I did wrong. I didn’t—but it took a while for me to understand that.

Right now, I’m scared of life… but I’m also so eager to love. I’m house trained, crate trained, and I’m trying my absolute best every single day. New things still make my heart race. Loud noises, fast movements, dogs that come on too strong—it can be a lot for a guy who’s still learning that he’s safe.

What I need most is a foster or foster-to-adopt home right now. A place where I can finally breathe. Somewhere quiet, patient, and predictable. Someone who understands that dogs like me don’t bloom overnight—but when we do? We’re everything.

I’d do best as an only dog or with calm, respectful dog friends. I’m not ready for small dogs yet, and cats are still a mystery to me. Overly eager dogs make me nervous, but gentle guidance helps me learn.

I don’t need fancy things.
I need time, patience, and someone who won’t give up when I get scared.

I promise—I’m worth it. I promise I’m trying. I promise that if you give me the chance to feel safe, I’ll show you just how much love I’ve been saving.

Please help me find my foster or foster-to-adopt home.
I don’t want to be left behind again.

All foster families are provided with the essentials to care for Zoran. The rescue will send you with food, leash, collar, toys, crate, treats and heartworm/flea/tick prevention meds.
Please apply to foster at rescuedrascalsil.org or email for more info at rascalsintake@gmail.com
