Forest!

Forest is a sweet little medium to high energy Chihuahua and Border Collie mix. He was born around 9/1/2024 and currently weighs 20 lbs. His DNA test came back with 15 breeds and Chihuahua/Border Collie were the highest %'s.<br/><br/>Forest is playful, loyal and smart. He likes the company of other friendly dogs and likes playing chase and wrestling with them. He is beginning to enjoy balls and toys and will occasionally play with them. He Iikes chewing on bully sticks and other chew toys and bones. He loves going for walks, hiking and will swim sometimes. <br/><br/>In the evenings he enjoys couch time with his humans. He desires to be a large part of his family’s life and likes being included in daily activities. <br/>Forest can be shy when meeting new people but has shown he will warm up with slow, calm introductions. He has a tendency to be somewhat timid but his confidence has grown quite a bit in his foster home. Once he is comfortable in a home he is a happy, delightful, playful and cuddly boy. He has a preference for women but does warm up to men in time. <br/><br/>Forest is crate trained, walks politely on a leash and is house broken in his foster home. He currently lives with friendly dogs of various sizes and gets a long well with them. He also lives with dog savvy cats but will challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Children would likely overwhelm him so only dog savvy, respectful kids over 12 are recommended. He would not do well being left home alone daily for long hours. He enjoys a yard and is an alert barker so no apartments for him. <br/><br/>Forest would do well in an active home with a confident, playful dog companion to help boost his confidence, help show him the ropes and keep him company while his humans are away from home. He would not do well with an overly dominant dog who bullies him. A person who has the time, patience and willingness to work with a shy dog would be ideal.<br/><br/>Forest is a sweet, playful dog who is a joy to foster.
