Forest's Story

***Forest is currently with a loving foster family in NJ. An application for his adoption should be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to Register or Login). Questions about Forest and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the rescue's number.***`

When a man went to visit his father's grave site in a remote area, he was stunned to find that someone had abandoned a female Bulldog and her five pups at the cemetery. Both mom and pups, who were approximately 4-5 months old at the time, all looked to be thin, were covered with both fleas and ticks and had numerous hot spots over their bodies. When Scott Bennett arrived all of the dogs quickly devoured the food he had brought and appeared to be begging for more. Not having the heart to simply leave them all at the cemetery, Scott and the man loaded them all into his truck and brought them to SoCo Rescue. While scared and confused, both mom and pups were very friendly and grateful for the help they were receiving.

Forest has now fully recovered from his horrible ordeal. He has remained very friendly and loves his interaction with our staff. It warms our hearts to see him now playing, happy and healthy. Among this litter, he is the most reserved, calmest and is a little shy.

Prior to his adoption, Forest will have received all three of his first year "puppy" vaccinations, de-wormings and other preventative care. He is scheduled to be neutered on Oct 3rd as well, removing that expense and obligation from his potential adopter. He will, however. require all of his basic training which should come very easy for this seemingly highly intelligent pup.

(Included with the pics is the mom, Francine)
