FLASH 's Story
Hey everybody! Meet Flash, an overwhelmingly cute gentleman who decided that living his life in a kennel run while trying to be a stud dog was just not the right fit for him. Thankfully the breeder turned this poster boy for fluffy cuteness into rescue, and now Flash is seeking the life he was always meant to live.
Now for the list of Flash's demands. A guy this amazing and consequently will need to have a few of his bucket list items checked off before going anywhere. Flash doesn't understand toys, or playing, or tug, or many other things that just being a dog entails. He should have a canine sibling or two who wants to show him the ropes. Our gorgeous boy is learning to like walking on a leash, he occasionally pulls, but doesn't strain on a leash. He has been great with potty training and hasn't had any issues since he was neutered. He does have a tndency to counter surf, but quickly acquiesces when asked to stop. Flash is just beginning to understand commands, but he's really food motivated and will probably learn more tricks than you ever thought possible. It will take very little time for this smart little man to become the dog he was meant to be. He will also need A SOLID 4 FOOT TALL or HIGHER FENCE. Flash can scale a chain link fence. While he doesn't have a huge tendency to run, once he bolts, he can run miles (trust me, I learned this the hard way and may start a gofundme to recover the cost of the wine I drank until he was located several miles away). Alternatively, he may be a perfect fit for someone who lives in an apartment that has a door that only opens to an interior hall.
Flash is a true sweetheart. He is very smart. This guy loves attention and affection, an incredible characteristic for a puppy mill breeder dog. He has loved all 3 of his foster moms, despite being shuttled to 3 different homes in a single week after his rescue, (it was the only way to keep him out of a kennel during the holidays). He is also fine with other dogs. He did well with other pups in his two previous foster locations, and currently shares space with a 9 year old rescued Golden Retriever. He is learning to play with a 2 year old Pittie mix when he goes to work with me.
Flash is an ACK registered Miniature Poodle, but has been recently neutered so this is only for bragging rights. He stands at the large end of his breed, 14 inches at his shoulder. He is what is called an abstract, or multi-colored poodle, light cream with lots of shades of tan and apricot. If you are reading this and enjoying an adult beverage, please feel free to research Poodle heights and coloring. It will take you down a rabbit hole that will occupy the remainder of your evening.
This handsome boy has been neutered, and is up to date on vaccinations, but will need a second round of booster shots in the next 2 months. The Rescue Express will cover the cost of those vaccines if provided at one of our approved veterinarians.

If you are the right fit for Flash, please go the https://therescueexpress.org/home-page and fill out an application.
