Fizz's Story

Fizz is the definition of "young heart, old soul." This tan Chihuahua mix was surrendered to Harbor Animal Shelter when his family moved, and you can feel he's still trying to understand why his world changed. In foster care, though, he's showing exactly what a gentle, loving companion he can be.

Fizz is a cuddler through and through. Once he knows you, he wants nothing more than to curl up under a warm blanket, tuck himself into your lap, and hand out soft little kisses. He'll happily follow his person from room to room, then settle nearby for a nap while you work or relax. His foster calls his nature kind, gentle, and very affectionate.

Because Fizz has very limited vision, he can be a bit jumpy when something changes suddenly-a new person entering the room, a branch brushing him on walks, a cat darting by. He may bark when startled, but it's a "hey, what was that?" alert, not aggression. He's shy at first with new people and kids, yet warms up quickly and will "choose" any available lap once he feels safe.

Fizz does wonderfully on leash, loves his walks and toys, and is still quite playful for a senior. He enjoys other dogs and would likely benefit from a calm, friendly dog buddy to help him feel more secure. Cats, however, are not his favorite and a cat-free home will be best.

This sweet boy needs a calm, steady household, patient humans who use gentle corrections, and a predictable routine. In the right home, Fizz will reward you with quiet companionship, endless snuggles, and the kind of loyal love only a little senior heart can give.

If you're interested in adopting, head to hitlivingfoundation.org/adopt to apply!

Est DOB: 11/26/2016
Adoption Fee: $350
