Firefly's Story

Firefly made his way to us in November 2025, at the time he was estimated to be around 10 months old and he definitely had the energy to prove it. Firefly and his sister were dumped on someone's property and picked up by The Dalles Police. At the time these were two very energetic and playful puppies that seemed to have never received the routine, consistency, and training they needed to have a bright start in life. Despite that his sister has found her forever home since then and is doing great but Firefly is still here, hoping to find his missing piece in life!

CGHS Staff has had the absolute pleasure of watching Firefly grow and mature into an adult dog from his puppy ways. He has mellowed out personality wise, he is still absolutely crazy happy to meet new people and will show as kind of wild at first but once he settles or gets to go for a walk he turns into a perfect guy! Firefly is doing a lot better with other dogs than when he first arrived here, he seems to really enjoy energetic, playful, and friendly dogs. He tested very well with cats/kittens, he is happy and excited to see them but not hyper focused, he also gets a little nervous when they bat at his snout so there's a healthy fear!

Volunteer walkers have given this guy some pretty good reviews lately, stating him as just a friendly excited dog who likes to greet everyone he sees!

Firefly just has some unchecked crazy excitement, I always describe him as a 5 month old puppy in a 2 year old body. He's just waiting for someone to help shape him into the perfect family dog that we all know he could be with more time and consistency.

Age: 1 year & 7 months
Weight: 68lbs
Adoption Fee: $300

Fill out an application at: https://www.columbiagorgehs.org/adopt.html

(All animals adopted out of CGHS are spayed/neutered, up to date on annual vaccines including rabies, and microchipped)
