Fiona #7's Story

Fiona #7 is a two year-old lab mix weighing about 55 lbs. that really should not be overlooked. Fiona has been a pleasure in her foster home. With thoughtful and careful introductions, she is living with two other dogs in her foster home and gets along great with them. She is no bother at all. Fiona is friendly to everyone she meets. She loves to be where the people are. Fiona knows how to sit, lay down, and her recall is amazing! You only have to call her once when she's in the yard and she comes immediately! She loves playing with toys and bones and often throws them in the air to herself and runs after them. She has never had an accident inside of the home and has a bladder of steel! Do you like to sleep in? So does Fiona! Do you hate squirrels in your yard? So does Fiona! Do you like to go for a long walks? So does Fiona! Fiona does not require a crate as she is great in the house and is never destructive. She also has great manners when you're eating and does not beg and walks great with a Halti collar. So everyone has something they need to work on, right? Fiona is no exception. Although she lives with two other dogs, she does react to other dogs when she is on a leash and can be quite loud. She has been working with a trainer, and her foster family can share different techniques that they work on when they do see another dog on their walks. She will also bark at dogs that she sees through the window of the house or the car. These behaviors will require an experienced dog owner, who is willing to continue her training. An ideal home for Fiona would be one with a fenced in yard (not see thru) where she can run and play with her new family. A new family that will take her on at least one walk a day to continue her training would also be ideal for her. Fiona is very affectionate and sweet & loves to be near you, cuddle with you and sleep near you. She’s a people-loving, squirrel-hating, sleep-in-until-brunch kind of gal and she would make a great addition to the right family!

For additional information about Fiona #7 please email Jennifer Vargas: jennifer.vargas@labs4rescue.org

Fiona #7 is being fostered in New England.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We receive many questions about our adoption process from potential adopters, most of which can be answered by viewing our "Adopt a Lab" page on our full service website, (https://labs4rescue.com/adopt).
