FINNEGAN (FIN) SRC#3257OP's Story

OWNER PLACEMENT

ASSISTED BY SCHNAUZER RESCUE OF THE CAROLINAS

Finnegan (SRC3255OP) called Finn for short is a Schnauzer- Terrier mix who has been with his current owner for two ( 2) years She adopted him from a local shelter and although she is no longer able to provide Finn( with the type of home that he should have, she does want to assure that he goes to a loving home where he will be incredibly happy. This affectionate boy is now nine ( 9) years old and weighs thirty-nine ( 39) pounds. Because he is part Schnauzer, Finn is a smart, sweet boy who is potty trained, knows numerous commands, does well on the leash and loves going on walks. Finn really likes to cuddle and to go for rides in the car, so he is an exceptionally good traveler. When Finn is left alone at home, he is well behaved and does not bother anything. Finn is medium to high energy, so he requires daily walks. This precious canine maintains a good temperament and really enjoys pleasing his human companion.

Finnegan has no health issues and is up to date on his immunizations. His owner will provide a copy of his immunizations when he is adopted. Finn prefers female humans, and it takes him longer to warm up to male human still he will warm up to men who have a gentle personality. His owner was not given proof of this still she believes that Finn has a history of being abused since he will flinch if you touch him without letting him know first and that might be why he prefers women to men. The owner believes that it was a man that abused him since Finn warms to women much more quickly than to men. Finn will naturally warm up to men after he is allowed to spend time with them, and eventually he will even snuggle with men also. Finn is alright with older children. Since SRC has a firm policy not to adopt to families with children who are under the age of ten (10) years old, Finn’s adoptive family must not have children younger than ten ( 10) years of age.

Finn loves going to doggy day care and enjoys it quite a bit. He doesn’t do as well with canines on a one-on-one basis so a meet and greet would be necessary to ensure that both canines do well together When his current human companion adopted Finn, he was being fostered along with an older dog, and they got along very well. Finn has not been around cats so it is not certain how he would do around felines. It would be best if he was not placed in a home that had felines . During the two (2) years that this human companion has had him with her, Finn has made tremendous progress with his training and obedience. It suits Finn very well to have a stable environment and a routine which he can depend on He genuinely adores cuddling and will return this affection abundantly. His current human companion is having health issues, or she would never consider placing him in another home. She loves Finn enough to assure him the stability and constant affection that she is currently unable to provide him with. This is making it difficult for her to walk him and provide him with the time and energy which Finn needs to receive proper care. She loves him enough to ensure that he receives that care even though this means she must find him another loving home. Finn has so much love to give so he deserves a human companion who can give him the love and care he should always have!

His human companion wants to make certain that he goes to a loving home although this is an extremely hard decision for her. Finn has an abundance of love to give! His current human companion will provide his new adoptive family with information about all his needs and desires. She will answer any questions that his new family may want to know so that they may be most comfortable welcoming him to his new home. Please provide a completed application, recent vet records if there are any, and photos of their current home and where Finn would be sleeping once he is adopted. Finn is not an outdoor dog although he does enjoy spending time with his human(s) while together they play or simply spend time outdoors with him.

THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED AT:

THE DONATION BEING REQUESTED IN HONOR OF THE ADOPTON IS:$200.

Please submit a completed adoption application and with that application, submit vet records for any pets you have had within the last 5 years along with photos of your residence including the yard (including the fencing). The owner of this Schnauzer will review all approved applications and documentation that SRC sends to them. They will contact you to ask questions and to answer any questions you may have. At that point if a meet and greet has been scheduled, an adoption contract will be sent to you which you must sign and return to SRC. If the meet and greet goes well, your donation of $200 (tax deductible) may be made online so that the release of the Schnauzer may happen. SRC will notify the owner of this Schnauzer when the donation is completed so that they may release the Schnauzer to their new adoptive home. SRC will register his/her micro-chip in the new adoptive parents’ name(s) at no additional charge. 12/27/25 8:32 PM
