Finnegan's Story

Finnegan is an approximately 9-year-old, 30-pound bundle of love with a DNA mix of Dachshund, Chihuahua, and Poodle—though we think he’s 100% adorable!

This charming boy is looking for a special someone to share his life with. Finnegan recently had cataract surgery and he’ll need daily eye drops for life. He also gets a once a month injection for Addison’s disease, which is caused by a deficiency in steroid hormones. But don’t worry, he’s a champ with his care routine and can live a normal life.

Finnegan is incredibly affectionate and thrives on companionship. He loves people and enjoys being near you, though he takes a little longer to warm up to men. He’s a devoted little buddy who will follow you around and make every day brighter just by being by your side.

He’s not suited for apartment living and may bark when left alone, so he’d do best in a quiet, single-family home with someone who works from home or is around most of the time. Finnegan can get overwhelmed on busy walks, especially with lots of people and noise, so he needs a calm, confident leader who can help him feel safe and avoid stressful situations. To help with this transition, we’ll provide professional training support upon adoption.

Finnegan gets along well with other small, calm dogs and can even live peacefully with cats. He’s ready to find a home where he can relax, feel secure, and shower his person with unconditional love.

Could you be the one to give Finnegan the forever home he’s been waiting for?

If you are interested in meeting Finnegan please complete the adoption application on our website, www.greatpets.org. Once your application is received and reviewed you will be contacted to discuss if Finnigan would be a good fit for you. Finnegan's $250 adoption donation includes his vet exam, vaccinations, blood work, cataract surgery, microchip and fecal exam.
