Fiji's Story

Hi, My name is Fiji I am a lab bully mix, sadly all people see in me is bully. I'm a
little fearful in my crate when people I don't know approach me, but once I come out all I want to do is hug them! I am a big hugger! I hope you'll see that in my pictures that I wrap my front paws around you and literally hug you. I’m appreciative for the people that have been kind to me and showed me nothing but love and compassion. When I came here as a six month old puppy I had a collar embedded in my neck which the rescue quickly took care of and healed me from. However I do have a scar, it doesn't prevent me from having a leash put on me or a collar. I love walks and I know what “no pull” means, I know a lot of what the commands mean here and adhere to them. I am a people pleaser and want you to be happy with me! One of my favorite things to do is play ball - I actually sleep with two balls! I guess they give me some sense of security as that was one of the first great happy moments that I had here at the rescue. They’re very good about ensuring that I have my balls outside to play with, as well as my balls in my crate. I do like hiding toys from other dogs it's kind of funny. Sometimes they find them, sometimes they don't! If they don't then I go dig them up and I move them somewhere else, but I do like hiding things. I never forget where things are and I can always go right back to find them. All weather types are OK with me, not sure if that's because of the type of coat I have but I like cold weather and warm weather so if you're a hiker, someone that's very athletic or likes to go places and go on walks, I would love that! I love going places and seeing new things!! I'm good on a leash and I'm great on car rides, I listen well too. I'm looking for a family to love me and not judge me for some of my breed mix. I am now six years old so I guess if I’ve been here since six months that means I've been in rescue for five years! I'm told here daily how beautiful I am and what pretty coloring & eyes I have. I'm not sure why no one's ever given me a chance. I am a little afraid of children small children because their energy confuses me, I haven’t been around them much. I hope no one will hold that against me. Please look at my pictures and videos, and consider coming to meet me. The rescue offers meet & greets + trial adoptions, you can take me home for two weeks with a small deposit to make sure I'm a good fit. I hope to meet my new family soon and wish someone would give me a chance!
Love, Fiji
