Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Fiji.<br/><br/>Fiji is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.<br/><br/>Meet Fiji!<br/><br/>Fiji is a 1 year old (as of 6/1/26) female pittie / lab mix. Fiji is fully vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Fiji currently weighs 53 pounds and is ready to find a family to call her own!<br/><br/>Fiji came to us as an owner surrender. A man reached out and needed help with 19 dogs that he had been taking in off the streets and Fiji was one of them. Thankfully, we had amazing foster homes step up and we were able to take in 9 of the dogs. Fiji is now in a foster home and waiting to find her forever home!<br/><br/>Fiji is dog friendly and currently lives in a foster home with multiple dogs. Her foster mom fosters multiple dogs and will have dogs of all ages an sizes coming in and out of their house and Fiji always wants to meet them and say hi! Outside of her home environment when she's meeting new dogs, she can be a little shy, but she just wants to make sure she's safe. <br/><br/>Fiji is cat friendly! While she has limited interactions with the cats, she just leaves them alone. <br/><br/>Fiji is kid friendly and has been around children ages 2 & 8. We think she would do great with kids ages 8+ just because of her playful nature. <br/><br/>Fiji can be a little timid on the leash, but she's getting better every day! She prefers to walk with a harness and will walk calmly next to you. <br/><br/>Fiji is fully potty and crate trained! She has also been left out to free roam when her foster mom is away from the home and did well. She is comfortable in her crate and will just relax in there while her foster mom is away from the home for work or errands. <br/><br/>We would say that Fiji has a moderate energy level. She enjoys running and playing in the yard with her doggie foster siblings, but she's also perfectly content to lounge on the couch and watch your favorite show with you. <br/><br/>Here's a small blurb about Fiji from her foster mom:<br/>My Fiji girl! She may be short and stout, but don’t let her size fool you, this girl is strong, athletic, and more than happy to run, romp, and wrestle with the big dogs. She’s silly, bouncy, and very snack motivated, with an adventurous free spirit that makes her so much fun to be around. She can be a little shy when she’s meeting new people or experiencing something unfamiliar, but once she feels comfortable, her playful personality really shines. She’s learning that the world is a pretty wonderful place, and she would love a patient person who will give her the time and encouragement she needs to build confidence.
