Fig's Story

Hi there! My name is Fig, and I’m a 4-year-old, 40lb pitbull mix who’s ready to find my forever home.

I’ve had a bit of a rough time, but I’m a resilient girl. I just finished my heartworm treatment, and I’m feeling so much better now! I’m spayed, UTD on my shots, house-trained, and crate-trained, so I’m a good girl who knows how to be respectful in the house. I’m not super into self-regulating sometimes, and I can get a little too excited, but when I do, I just need a little quiet time to calm down in my crate.

I’m a playful pup who loves to roughhouse and snuggle up close when I’m feeling cozy. Benebones and frozen kongs with yogurt and peanut butter are some of my favorite things to chew on. I enjoy my daily playtime and long walks (1-2 hours in the evening and 30 minutes in the morning). I do well on a leash, but I tend to fixate on other dogs I see while walking, so I may need a little extra guidance in that area.

I’m good with both men and women, and I get along with other dogs, especially playful pups about my size and energy level (though slow introductions are important). I haven't been around kids or cats, so I’m not sure how I’d do with them yet.

I’m a bit of a barker when it comes to other dogs in crates or through fences, and I don’t like lawn crews—best to keep me inside when those noisy machines are around! But, I’m not food-aggressive at all. I can eat around other dogs, and I even use a slow feeder bowl to help me enjoy my meals without rushing.

If you're looking for a loving, energetic companion with a lot of heart, I'm your girl! I’m just waiting for the right family to help me continue healing and growing. Could it be you? ??

**To adopt Fig, please apply on our website: www.strongpawsrescue.org**
