Fifi's Story

Age: 1 year Weight: 8lbs Meet Fifi! Sweet baby angel, Fifi, is a 1 year old 8lb female chi mix who just arrived in NYC from Texas. She is super affectionate, and absolutely loves kisses and snuggles. When she isn’t busy burrowing under the covers with her person, she is a bubbly ball of energy. She loves to play, and is especially curious so she is apt to make any little thing she finds her new chew toy. She’s settling into her foster home nicely with her foster brother, Milo. They are getting along fairly well together however she has shown some tendency to get jealous when she sees him getting more attention. If she’s joining a household with other pups, she’ll need to do some proper training to quell that tendency. Fifi is very comfortable in a crate, but not yet fully trained to stay in there for long periods of time. Currently she is trained to go on pee pads, and is getting more comfortable on a leash. Since she’s from Texas she obviously doesn’t have a ton of experience with snow. She’ll definitely need some booties to protect her little paws when she goes out for walks! She’s well on her way to learning basic commands as well, but will need someone who will help her continue her training. Whoever adopts this little one will be very lucky! INTERESTED IN ADOPTING? True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy

First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
