Fiddle's Story

Look at this photo. Look at those politely crossed paws. Look at that soulful, demure gaze. Do not fall for it.

Fiddle is a stunning 2-year-old Yellow Lab who is convinced she is the Captain of the ship, and without a strong First Mate, she will steer that ship right into the kitchen counter to eat your sandwich.

To put it simply: Fiddle is a lot of dog. She is high-energy, incredibly smart, and headstrong with a capital H. She is essentially an overgrown puppy who needs a "reset" on her manners. She requires a confident, experienced handler who is ready to put in the work, set firm boundaries, and not let those pretty brown eyes get away with murder.

The Fiddle Files:

Other Dogs: She loves them! But she plays like a linebacker. She needs sturdy, tolerant dog friends who appreciate a rough-and-tumble wrestling match.

Cats: No.

Kids: No small children. She is a jumper and her excitement levels are too high for little ones.

House Manners: She is a counter-surfer and a pro at "redecorating" if left unsupervised. Crate training/confinement is a must when you aren't watching her.

Leash Skills: Sometimes she’s an angel, other times she is a freight train. You need to be strong, patient and ready to work.

Must-Haves: A fenced yard to burn off that Lab energy and a leader who won't back down.

If you’re looking for a couch potato, keep scrolling. But if you’re an experienced dog owner searching for a gorgeous, playful project who will potentially reward your hard work with loyalty, laughter, and a lifetime of stories, Fiddle is your girl. Beneath all that energy and attitude is a dog who desperately wants her person — someone to guide her, believe in her, and help her become the incredible companion she’s meant to be.

With the right leader, Fiddle won’t just be a good dog… she’ll be your dog.

House of Hope Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
House of Hope Animal Rescue is foster-based. We are not a shelter and do not own a kennel where our dogs are kept. All of our dogs are in foster homes. Once your application is approved, your adoption coordinator will assist you in scheduling a date and time to meet dogs you are interested in at their foster homes. You must be willing to travel to the foster homes to meet potential dogs. Thanks for your understanding. APPLICATION PROCESS All potential adopters are required to complete an adoption application. That can be done online or you can download and complete then mail or email it to us. Once your application is received, we’ll call your references, including your Veterinarian. All of your pets must be current on vaccines and on preventatives.? Once all references are checked, we will get in touch with you to schedule a phone interview to go over your application and our adoption procedures. You may be contacted via email, so please keep an eye on your inbox, junk, and spam folders. Please know that we will reach out to you as soon as possible, but it can take up to 14 days depending on the volume of applications we are receiving. Please be patient with us.? After the phone interview we will set up a time for one of our volunteers to conduct a home visit. This is to ensure that your home is a safe environment for a dog and is the final step in the approval process.? Once your application is approved, you are ready to begin meeting dogs! Because we want each dog to go to the right forever home, it is not guaranteed that you will be approved for the dog for which you applied. In this case, we will work with you so that the right match is made for everyone involved. House of Hope spends a lot of time getting to know each dog so they can be placed with a family they are appropriate for as well as a family that is appropriate for them.?
