Ferret's Story
Ferret: The Dog With the Ears
2 years old American Pit Bull Terrier Approx. 62 lbs Neutered Male Location (Shelter)
Yes, his name is Ferret.
No, he does not slink through tunnels or steal socks (that we know of).
What he does have are two of the most expressive ears in the building. They operate independently, rotate with precision, and pair perfectly with his signature head tilt that says, "I heard snacks," or "I have questions." His face is permanently set to curious gentleman mode.
Ferret arrived as a stray at the start of the year, and since then he has proven himself to be an easygoing, food motivated, people focused guy who appreciates the finer things in life. Those finer things include car rides, structured walks, chicken nuggets, and pup cups served with confidence.
He has gone on several field trips with one of our volunteers and has done fantastic. He rides beautifully in the car, walks nicely on leash, and settles in well once he knows he is with his person. He is attentive, responsive, and enjoys having a job to do, especially if that job involves treats.
While the colder weather has limited his participation in playgroups, Ferret has shown friendly interest in other dogs through the fence. He appears social and curious, and a meet and greet would be recommended for any resident dogs in the home.
At just two years old, Ferret is past the tiny puppy stage but still young, playful, and ready to build a routine with someone of his own. He would thrive in a home that enjoys walks, appreciates a dog with personality, and does not mind being observed closely by a pair of very impressive ears.
Ferret's Highlights
2 year old American Pit Bull Terrier, approx. 62 lbs
Easygoing and affectionate
Food motivated and eager to learn
Great car rider
Walks nicely on leash
Friendly interest in other dogs
Meet and greet recommended if you have other dogs
Ferret may have the name of a small, mischievous creature, but he is a steady, sweet companion just waiting for his next chapter. If you are looking for a dog with character, charm, and ears that deserve their own fan club, Ferret is ready to meet you.
Come meet Ferret at the Caroline County Humane Society
407 W.
