Fernie's Story

Meet Fernie, a 4 year old mixed breed beauty who, despite her tough beginnings, is super sweet and loving. Fernie was found tied to a tree, emaciated and unsure of the world around her. But with patience and love, she has blossomed into an absolute love bug – and also gained 40 lbs!

Fernie is still a bit hesitant when meeting new people, but a handful of treats helps her become much more confident! And once you are in her circle of friends, she will happily demonstrate her wiggle butt and quickly roll over for belly rubs. Life is good!

She loves other dogs, but is a bit too rough in her play style, and her exuberance can be a bit overwhelming to many dogs. She is learning to be less enthusiastic, but would do best as an only dog in her home, with the opportunity to have fun play dates. She loves, loves, loves her people and so would prefer to be the center of attention anyway!

Fernie would do best with someone home more than not, and would do better with older children as she has never been around toddlers. She loves running around, so a fence would be wonderful but leash walks are fun too.

Fernie does need special food as that is the only way to keep her healthy and at a good weight. But with this food, she thrives!

Fernie’s greatest wish is to be someone’s best buddy and their whole world. Could that be you?

PLEASE NOTE: While this Lab may not be available for adoption by the time you complete the adoption process, other great Labs are always finding their way into our Rescue.

For more information on this Lab, please contact info@brooklinelabrescue.org.

If you are interested in adopting this Lab or any other Lab from our Rescue, please visit our Web site, brooklinelabrescue.org, for more information on our adoption process.
