Fern's Story

Meet Fern, one of our newest rescues! Fern is estimated to be between 1–2 years old and is very active, with plenty of energy to burn. She’s settling in well at her foster home but still has some youthful behaviors, so she’ll do best with an adopter who has experience with active dogs and is committed to continuing her training.

Fern would likely do well with a male dog companion, but she has not been around cats, so a cat-free home is recommended.

Fern’s journey with Freedom Farm began about a year ago when one of our foster volunteers met a man outside a store who could no longer care for her due to homelessness. Wanting the best for Fern, he hoped to find someone who could give her the loving, stable home she deserves. Our foster mom stepped up, promising to help Fern start a new chapter.

The man was overjoyed, gathered Fern’s belongings, and said a heartfelt goodbye—assuring her she’d never have to face the heat or rain again. Thanks to the care she received, Fern is healthy, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.

Fern is now ready for an active family who can keep up with her energy and continue her training. A home with a pool would be a dream, as she absolutely loves water! 🐾💦
