Fennec (Spayed) (In Foster to Adopt)

Fennec is a beautiful 7-year old female German Shepherd who was brought to the HSOV on December 28, 2025 by a Good Samaritan who found her in the vicinity of Veto Lake Road/State Route 339 in the Belpre/Washington County Ohio area. Fennec was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped.<br/><br/>Fennec has a cream/black/tan coat, a long bushy tail, and a lovely Shepherd face with dark brown eyes, subtle black shading on her slender muzzle, and large erect ears. Fennec's coat is very thick/dense.<br/><br/>This gorgeous girl has a friendly, easygoing personality.<br/><br/>Fennec weighs 86 lbs. She walked fairly well on a leash when HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos accompanied her for outdoor photos on the afternoon of December 28th. Fennec loved attention from Angel and leaned on her (literally) for extra TLC after her photo session. <br/><br/>Fennec didn't appear to be interested in any of the HSOV outdoor shelter mascot kitties that she encountered.<br/><br/>In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Fennec will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that her family will have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership.<br/><br/>Since she was not reclaimed, Fennec went home with a foster family on January 2, 2026 who plans to adopt her after she is spayed.<br/><br/>Update: Fennec was spayed on January 19, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. She was adopted by her foster family later that afternoon.
