Female's Story
This female is being rescued from an abusive home where she was left outside in all weather year around. She is 9years old (yorkies can live up to 20 years) and very small at 8 pounds and way too tiny to have lived in the extreme hot and cold of the outdoors. Despite all this, this little girl is very pleasant. She is blind one eye and only partially sighted in the remaining eye. However, this does not limit her at all and she gets around just fine, despite her sight issue. She is very smart. She also has sensitive skin, which is easily maintained with a medicate shampoo. She will go potty outside as she is used to, but will also go on piddle pads if inside. However, once a new dog is introduced into a new environment, there may be a few mistakes until a routine is established, so patience is a must. She is more of a couch potato dog and enjoys being on your lap and sitting by the TV. She is spayed and up to date on shots and a picture will follow soon. We are looking for a potential adoptive home where someone is home most of the day and she will be kept INDOORS and finally get the love and attention she deserves. No full time working homes please. No dog should be expected to hold their bladder for 12 hours. We also are looking for a mature, quiet home for her with no small children and a fenced-in yard. She is okay with other dogs, but we will not place her with a house with large/aggressive dogs. We are sure how she is with cats. She is very pleasant and laid back, so we do not believe it to be a problem. We have limited resources, so we will be accepting applications from adoptive homes within the Philadelphia/south Jersey or King of Prussia vicinity ONLY, so we can do the REQUIRED home visit and vet/personal checks. SORRY BUT WE CANNOT CONSIDER ANYONE WHO IS NOT WITHIN THESE AREAS. If you think you can give this little girl the love she has been missing and so very much deserves, please contact us by e-mail for a questionnaire.
