Farah's Story
Meet Farah. We think she is about 18 months to 2 years old. She came from a breeding facility that didn't socialize the dogs well or at all. At her young age, she has already had one litter of puppies. She is spayed now and learning how to live life as a inside loved family member! Farah has trust issues as you might imagine, but she does want to be able to feel comfortable being scooped up and cuddled. She can be a little hard to corner and catch inside or outside, but that will get better with time. A course (or two) of obedience classes down the road will help build her confidence and get her used to sitting, lying down, coming, etc. That will help build her confidence. She does retreat to her safe corner in the kitchen or crate and lets you get her from there. She has started coming up to her foster mom occasionally on her own terms. Again, time, patience, and love will have this girl blooming into a wonderful family member, but she will be a work in progress for a while. She is afraid of almost all men, even her foster dad that spoils her rotten and tries so hard. She is much better with women. She gets along with most other dogs, but does better with males and dogs the same size or smaller than she is. She loves to play and run around the yard if there is another dog chasing her; she is very fast and agile! We will require a securely fenced yard in her new home. She has mastered house training and leash training and loves to go for walks in the neighborhood. Her start in life wasn't the best, but she is on her way to being a loved family member. She is being fostered in Little Rock, Arkansas. We do not ship our dogs; we are looking for a home for her in the Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, or Missouri area. You must be able to drive to Little Rock, AR to meet and adopt this girl. As with ALL our rescues, it is never first come, first serve. It is what is the best home for each particular dog.
