Fanny's Story

Meet Fanny! Lovable Fanny is four years old and currently 31.8lbs (she's on a weight loss journey and very proud of the 4.2lbs she's lost since arriving!). Fanny the friendly loaf loves to lounge around and is not fazed by loud noises or traffic on walks. Fanny was brought into a shelter in Texas after her owner died. She's been through a lot but is ready for a second chance in her new state! Her foster says: "Fanny hails from Texas and as we know everything is bigger in Texas. Just like our girl Fanny, she may be on the chunkier side but there's just more of her to love! Even though she's a thick girl she still gets around and hangs out with other dogs just fine. She is a swift little waddling potato! We are currently working on trying to lose a few pounds just to get her in top tier shape. But for the time being Fanny LOVES to get her tummy and chest rubbed. She will roll over and raise up her little leg to let you know she ready for some tummy pets. Fanny is a dignified lady and prefers to spend her time lounging and pondering life. She's fine being left alone as long as she has a dog friend around, she also prefers to have a canine pal with her on walks. Fanny is a good walker outside, not scared of people or cars passing by. She also is good at going to the bathroom outside. She does her business and is ready to go back in (we're working on getting some more steps in though!). Fanny is a funny sassy goof who is looking for a special, and kind hearted home that will continue to help her on her weight loss journey so she can hop around and wiggle about with ease!" True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy

First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
