Fairy's Story

Why Choose Me?

Update 2/5/26:

Fairy is back at the shelter. She was too energetic for the family that adopted her. She was named Ocean in her former home, and she knows and responds to it. I imagine she was given this name because of her gorgeous blue eyes. She's a beautiful pup, and yes, she's energetic and needed time to run, play, and stretch her legs.

Once she did that, we practiced skills during our playtime. Ocean loves toys and will play fetch and return her toy if rewards are involved. At first, she only wanted to run about the play yard with her toys, but when I started giving her treats, she'd return them. She also began sitting for her treats and toys, and that helped her calm and focus.

She's a sweet, smart girl. Her former family said Ocean was great with other dogs and children. She's an athletic dog who loves being with people and is a lot of fun. She'd do well with a family/adopter who enjoys outdoor activities as much as she does.

**********************

Fairy is a super playful pup. I threw a toy for her, and she had the best time running with it and tossing it in the air to catch or chase again. After lots of play time, she was ready to give me hugs and sit for a few treats. I also got her to lie down on the blanket and relax for a bit with her toy nearby. Fairy was adopted from the shelter earlier this year. She's really grown and is quite a beauty. Hopefully, she'll be reclaimed, but if not, she'll do well with someone who enjoys running and playing as much as she does.

You can read more about this dog and check out additional photos here: https://www.accgov.com/9482/Dogs

The adoption fees, shelter schedule, a description of the rescue and adoption process, and a list of included vetting can be found at https://athenspets.net/adoption-rescue-process.

This dog is available for adoption through Athens-Clarke County Animal Services, located at 125 Buddy Christian Way, Athens, GA.
