Ezra German Shepherd Dog Mix Louisville, KY

Ezra is a beautiful Shepherd mix who is estimated around 8 years of age. Ezra was a stray therefore we do not know her history or background. Ezra has a gorgeous long coat when she isn't sporting her summer cut.

Ezra is a sweet girl who does great with people. She isn't overly social often preferring to keep to herself however she has been around adult and children without issue. Ezra is a bit disconnected in the sense that she isn't the typical 'Shepherd Shadow' of constantly being near people. She values her space and simply co-existing without demanding attention. Ezra has been around children as young as 4 years of age and always done well. She also well behaved at the vet clinic and during grooming.

Ezra also values routine and being the queen diva. Although estimated at 8 years of age Ezra has plenty of energy and channels it into herding the other dogs in her foster home. Ezra is a dominate female and very pushy with other dogs and animals. She can be introduced to other dogs and learn to co-exist however she can be a pest during introductions. Other dominate dogs rarely take her attitude well however the more fun-loving, relaxed dogs tend to brush her off without issue. Ultimately Ezra would probably prefer to be an only dog however it isn't necessary. Proper introductions, clear expectations, and good boundaries are key to ensuring Ezra acclimates to new dogs. Ezra is NOT friendly with cats and we would not recommend her for a household with small dogs.

Ezra has tested positive for heartworm and has begun 'slow kill' treatments. This hasn't impacted her daily living and will simply need to continue receiving monthly heartworm medicine the same as any dog would receive monthly preventative care.
